if you have any preference, let me know if you want a full fantasy AU, a canonpoint before Witch left for the Universeity*, or a weird modgepodge AU where she has her bionic eye and robot crow but is still here for some reason. if you don't have a preference or you don't know what any of this shit means, don't worry about it.
*at this canonpoint, Witch is not nearly as dignified or assured, and has both her eyes but not her crow.
[There's a witch in these woods, so it's said. Hopefully you knew this on your way in; there's no other reason to want to visit this place. That, or just how did you manage to get so lost?
They speak of her in whispers, none of them kind. She's a witch, a heretic, cursed and cursing. The village blames their woes on her hexes. They say if she finds you, you'll never return home. That she keeps wanderers as her servants, glassy-eyed and bound. That she can perform miracles.
And now you've found her. She's tall, all in black with a cape and pointed hat and covered eye. She's younger than you might have expected, though, and her face is round and soft—unlike her expression as one eye squints at you from the other side of a ruined dirt path. The especially astute might notice a crow roosting nearby, high up, on your side of the woods. Hasn't it been near for a while?]
What do you want?
ii. jamjars
Witch is easy to jamjar because she's already basically jamjarred herself once so she's adaptable. give me a setting and the vague shape of a scene and i'll write a starter for you!
some specific concepts include:
- tech problems, either in a sci-fi setting or with something your character brought from home or maybe even with robots/cyborgs/folks with sci-fi prostheses—give Witch enough time and she can repair just about anything
- any kind of teamed-up exploration; Witch makes a great partner, despite being bad at socializing, thanks to her protective magic + her magic/high-tech analysis abilities
- shit i don't think i've ever played Witch doing anything with her flying broom?? y'all wanna go on a broom flight????
- dealing with her Crow familiar—folks who can talk to animals may or may not actually be able to talk to him; let's go with whatever's interesting! at a just-been-recently-jamjarred point, Witch would try to keep that Crow's a robot under wraps, but that doesn't always work; maybe if you've got a character with a sense for that kind of thing, or maybe he gets damaged?
iii. universeity
stuff set at the Universeity proper with canonmates, or anyone who wants to AU as a fellow student! give me the shape of a scene and i'll write a starter for you! concepts include:
- black catalog vs student council fights, or fights protecting sebastian and the book, and/or the aftermath thereof
- hanging out in the black catalog's basement working on Forbidden Knowledge Projects
- regular, less forbidden class projects together
- the typical Jamjar Introduction Shit just with Witch showing the new kid around

Hey, witch! I've got an item for you to look at, and not even for the usual reason!

Color me intrigued. Whatcha got?

It's a time crystal! I don't even know what that means, but it's gotta be big, right?
no subject
Yeah, uh, probably. Quick question, where the fuck did you get this?

[That's Tangram for 'you really don't want to know'.]

[She hums a little as she brings it up, level with her face, so she can scan it.]
Let's find out for sure...

I can imagine all kinds of side effects to eating a time crystal. Maybe I'd finish eating it before I started!

I worry sometimes that you're one temporal nudge away from getting displaced out of our reality entirely. I'm a little amazed just holding this didn't do anything to you—god, it's still going.
for sooga
A short while later, when she returns to the communal kitchen to return her mug (and...a few others; she drinks a lot of coffee, and she's been letting them pile up for a bit), Sooga is still there.
She hesitates—the space station they've found themselves on has offered, among other things, the most advanced tablet devices Witch has ever imagined, and robotics so high-level Witch has been researching them to improve Crow (who perches ever-present by her uncovered eye) since she arrived. Sooga (she does not use the word easily, but they are, for all intents and purposes, friends, by now) has taken it all in stride.
Which is why she pauses at the sight of him just...staring at the microwave.
She gives it a moment. No buttons are pressed. There is no active hum and, after a moment, no beeping reminder of present food.]
You, uh. You good there, buddy?
